Amandaprosjektet

The last few weeks, I've been digging in my plastic bag of baby wool, and spent a lot of left overs and half balls.
The Amanda project collects homemade products for the new born ward at the "Rikshospitalet" in Oslo. When premature babies arrive, they often need a little extra supply of warmth - in the form of hats, socks, blankets and other.
Among other things I've knitted six "Devil hats" (aweful name, but gorgeous hats...) in different sizes. The smallest on is so tiny it's hard to believe a baby's head might fit inside...

Litt haustvarme...

Desse babysokkane er laga på same oppskrifta som dei i innlegget under, men her har eg byta ut Mor Aase med litt babyull-restar og eg nyttar pinnar på 2,5mm. Eg kutta og ned på antal striper. Utanom det er det nøyaktig same sokkane. Storleiken vart om lag 1 år, trur eg.

Haustvarme

Father's day gift

Large monsters

Slightly smaller when felted

Still very large for my feet.

Knitted facts:
Pattern: Felted Slippers (rav link) 25 st x 25 ridges
Yarn: Mor Aase 100% ren ull, three colours.
Needles # 4mm
Felted proportion: Norwegian size 43
Fit my father's feet perfectly! At least, so he says...

And a mini-version. 10 st x 10 ridges, and just two colours.

Last night...

...I finished these slippers. I've been working on them for months and months...

Not only did I manage to switch the colours from the first to the second slipper (the top one is correct), I also knitted a whole lot looser on the bottom slipper, so there's more than an inch length difference between them! I should probably quit knitting altogether. Except I wont. The edgings around the ancle are crocheted (sc).

Knitted facts:
Needle# 3.5 mm
Yarn: Mirasol (Du Store Alpakka), 100% alpacca
Pattern: "Futter med stjerne" (danish pattern)

When I was done with the slippers, I made yet another calorimetry from the purple leftovers. The sweet little turtle button came from a "Hemmelig Venn"-gift this spring. :)

Knitted facts:
Needle# 3mm
Yarn: Mirasol (Du Store Alpakka), 100% alpacca
Pattern: Calorimetry. I cast on 108 stitches and repeated the short rows until I had 7 turns on each side.
Finished measurements: 27.5x10 cm (11.5x4'), but it's stretchy, so it fits nicely round my head.

There are more leftovers from the pink yarn, so I plan on making a set with a calorimetry plus some wristlets. *run off to search ravelry*

WIP - Work(s) In Progress

This is what my sofa can look like on any given day.

And the corner beside my sofa.

And the middle of the floor.

Mind, these are all projects in the works. I can easily count ten... Is that too much at once, do you think? I mean, christmas is, in fact, coming closer as each day passes.

Hexagon blanket

Last May, (yes, that's May 09) Jane and I went on a shopping spree at Tjorven. There was a sale on wool yarns from Drops. Which there are every now and again... But, anyway.

Last September (I think...) we started knitting this cardigan (Ravelry link. Garnstudio link here). Jane finished hers this spring, I finished mine this September. Mind you, I have knitted loads of other stuff in between!

And then, this September we started crocheting this blanket, also from Garnstudio. We thought it was going to be real large, because it looked positively grand in the picture, but it turned out not to be... Because of the very heavy yarn (Eskimo), crocheted on 9mm hook (10mm in the pattern), it was pretty quickly done. There are 6 different colour combos, and they're supposed to go in a pattern for the seaming. So, in comes The System.

I'm done seaming now, only got the edging left. It's kept me warm while working on it... :)

Now to figure out what to make from the left overs... I'm thinking maybe some kind of slouchy beret... Any tips?
